here.) Rush turnaround is available at an additional cost.
How can I be sure you can improve my sound?
Trying our service is 100% risk-free–you don't have to pay anything until you're satisfied.
How much does it cost to make changes?
We offer unlimited revisions for 30 days, absolutely free.
Don't big-name artists attend their mixing & mastering sessions in person?
Not as often as you might think. Our method of transferring audio online and giving feedback by email and phone is quickly
becoming the standard.
Who is Fix Your Mix?
We are Phil Hill and Keith Freund. Over the years, we've worked with Grammy-winning and multi-platinum artists. Some of our
best known clients are Spoon, Blues Traveler, Yo-Yo Ma, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead, Los Lobos, Voxtrot
and Academy Award-nominated director Richard Linklater (Waking Life, School of Rock, Dazed and Confused).
Why should I choose Fix Your Mix over a local studio?
One of our favorite advantages Fix Your Mix has over local studios is that we charge flat rates (rather than hourly) and offer free revisions
for 30 days. So unlike at a local studio, when you work with us you don't have to make on-the-spot mix decisions in an unfamiliar environment.
You get to listen to your mixes everywhere you want, all you want, and if you want changes made, it doesn't cost you another cent. You don't
have to book the studio and engineer again; you don't have to worry about going over budget or running out of money.
And consider this: hourly rates actually give studios and engineers an incentive to work slower, because the more time your project takes, the
more money they make. Of course, you may not choose to work with them again if their service is world-endingly slow, but this may not be a
concern of theirs, depending on the philosophy of that particular engineer or studio manager. With Fix Your Mix, faster turnaround time pays
off for everyone involved–less waiting for you and more time for us to work with more artists.
What formats do you accept for mixing?
Send WAV or AIF tracks for fastest turnaround time, but we can also convert from nearly any format analog tape, Logic, Digital Performer,
Garage Band, Cubase, Nuendo, Audacity, Sonar, Adobe Audition, etc. If your format is not listed, we will be happy to walk you through the
conversion process.
Will you master from an MP3?
We do accept MP3s, but we prefer WAV or AIF format when possible. And yes, it's worth bugging your engineer for it.
I'm a producer/engineer/label representative/studio owner/CD duplication plant/member of a film/video/animation
team, etc. Can I still work with you?
Yes! You make up about 40% of our clientele.
Are my tracks salvageable? Are you sure can improve my mixes?
If we don't think your expectations for your project are realistic based on the recording quality, we'll tell you. And we'll be
happy to provide production tips to help you achieve the sound you want.
Do you offer album rates or bulk discounts?
Sometimes. Ask us when filling out our submission form or shoot us an email.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept debit, credit, PayPal, and Google Checkout.

Do you accept foreign currencies?
Yes. We accept most major currencies including Euros, Pounds, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Pesos and Yen.
These are big files. How can I get them to you?

(2) Mail us your project on a hard drive or data DVDs.
(3) Depending on location and availability, we'd be happy to meet with you in person.
What's the difference between mixing and mastering?
Read about the differences between
mixing and mastering.
Do I have to record in a big studio to get a great sounding record?
It helps. But as artists increasingly embrace the Do It Yourself aesthetic, our services bridge the gap between the freedom of recording
at home and the professionalism of working with experienced audio engineers.
I'm interested in Stem Mixing. How should I group my stems?
We'll be happy to make suggestions based the instrumentation of your song(s). List this at the bottom of your
project submission form or shoot us an email.
