Getting your music mastered means the overall loudness, brightness, low end, and width of your mixes will stack up against your favorite albums or songs on the radio. Listeners will be able to put in your album or demo after any other big artist, and won't have to adjust their volume, treble or bass, no matter where they're listening–in a car, on an iPod, home stereo, etc.
Mastering will also add energy and excitement to your recordings.
The final benefit of mastering is that your album, EP, or demo will also sound consistent from song to song.
While not every mix can be "fixed" in the mastering stage, they can almost always be improved.

• We do accept MP3s, but we prefer WAV or AIF format when possible. And yes, it's worth bugging your engineer for it.
